Serving the Community
We are a registered Charity and as such we support the community in general. For example, our exhibitions in the Castle are free to view and are enjoyed by the public, we participate in the Heritage weekends at the Castle in September and we have also been working with the day care centre at Tonbridge Baptist Church once a month to run workshops there for older people.

Heritage Weekend at Tonbridge Castle – 7th and 8th September
The exhibition at the Heritage Weekend was very successful, with lots of interest in the pictures and many compliments.
There were 387 visitors over the 2 days with 283 votes cast for the 33 pictures entered. Every picture received votes and despite it not being a sale two pictures were purchased by members of the public after discussions with the artists – John Hall and George Haysom – so well done to them too.
The joint winners of the member competition were Linda Horne’s watercolour of Scotney Castle and Penny McCulloch’s acrylic of knights in battle – both received 36 votes. They will share the prize equally. Third place went to Trudi Collins with a pencil sketch of a knight with 20 votes. The remaining votes were well spread amongst the pictures and many visitors commented on the quality and variety of the exhibition.
Thanks to everyone who exhibited, visited and stewarded.
There was lots of interest in the club itself and the non members competition so hopefully that will result in additional new members and entries for the non member competition which closed on 8th November with many lovely entries.
