The Tonbridge Art Group is a Charity founded in the late 1960s by a small group of art students at the Tonbridge Adult Education Centre with the encouragement of their tutor.
Most of the circa 60 members are active artists using an array of different mediums and with a wide range of styles and abilities. Beginners are very welcome and encouraged to visit and join.
The stated objective of the group is to advance the education of the public in art particularly painting and drawing and allied crafts.

Visitors are welcome to come to our talks and demonstrations for £5.00 per visit with the first visit being free of charge (just let one of the members know you are a new visitor). There are a number of events that are for members only and these are clearly noted on the programme.
Membership is open to anyone over the age of 14 years with an interest in art.
The annual fee is £40 which covers until our AGM in May 2023 with a reduction for junior members (under 18 years old). Renewal of the membership fee is due at the Annual General Meeting in May each year . Exhibition and sales of members’ work are held annually in the Autumn in the Council Chamber, Tonbridge Castle. For more information on our exhibitions please visit the exhibition page or contact Exhibitions@tonbridgeartgroup.com
The Art Group also gets involved in community projects such as the Arts Festival, Heritage Days and supports other local community initiatives at the day care centre at Tonbridge. Baptist Church and run a Monday afternoon art club open to all at the scout hut in the Ridgeway. See the separate page for details.
